I have attended last year Master Chef cooking marathon in a SM Hypermarket store and enjoyed the new simple recipes I have learned cooked by known master chefs.
For its success last year, SM Hypermarket is back again with bigger and better three (3) components run:
1. Free Carinderia Makeover
Entrepreneurs who run a carinderia, catering or small restaurant business can own a brand new kitchen and dining area in order to help them sustain their operations.
A minimum P500 worth of groceries inclusive of two sponsor brands or a fully stamped loyalty card give food business owners a chance to win a makeover.
2. Cooking marathon with the “Master Chefs”
A featured chef will go around all the 34 branches of SM Hypermarket every week in three months for FREE cooking lesson to all shoppers. See the schedule below:
I was fortunate to attend the kick-off celebration last August 16 at SM Hypermarket Cubao with an array of cooking demonstration and food tasting. I will be putting a different post on the dishes I have tasted on that night including their recipe.
Just a sneak peak, all five chefs did a run through marathon cooking for 15 minutes or less.
- Chef RJ Garcia of San Miguell made Roti Dog 3 Ways and Croque Madame
- Chef Paulo Sia of Uniliver prepare Toss and Wrap
- Chef Arnold Bernardo of Bounty Fresh cooked a Thai food name Chicken in Red Curry and Pineapple and Rice Noodle Stir-fry
- Chef Menoy Gimenez of CDO prepared Red Velvet Ciabatta Sandwiches
- Chef Tess Sulito of Nestle demo Creamy Munggo Guisado and Sigarillas at Papaya Gising-Gising
3. Master Recipe Contest
When you buy your ingredients at SM Hypermarket, cook your own unique, great tasting and reasonably priced recipe using any of the master brands and get a chance to win in SM Master Chef’s recipe contest.
Bring your finished product to any SM Hypermarket store on judging day. Who knows, you could be hailed one of the thirty-three SM Master Chefs for 2012.
