Just Thai in Molito, Alabang

Most of the thai food is light yet it has an aromatic scent with a twist of spiciness.  Still, the said dishes play around with a variety of sour, saltty, sweet and spicy to make it balance.

Near end of month is sometimes hiatus in my workspace where I started to beat  project deadlines.  I’m  actually setting it up to myself  –  something to look for in terms of accomplishment on what I have done.

Anyway, my choice is right to give up what I was doing then and to say yes when I got a south dinner invitation to eat out at Just Thai with fellow foodies.  It is a glimpse of  air to breathe at work and eating  fresh yet light is like a bliss of unwinding moments to capture in a while.

I love Thai Food.  Some of my favorites which I prepared at home are  Bagoong Rice, Chicken Pandan, Pomelo Salad and Sticky Rice with ripe mango.    Even my youngest daughter who craved for it knows how to cook Bagoong Rice together w/ mix vegetables and scrambled egg.

One has to know how to jumble with flavors and spices to come up with a unique Thai cuisine like coconut milk,  curry and fish sauce either in broth, stir fry or grilled.  To make it flavorful, one knows how to adopt the use of  basil, pandan leaves, lemon grass,  tamarind or the palm sugar to balace the saltty, sweet and spicy within the food.

Let’s see with Just Thai if its really that impressive and authentic in nature.

The interior is surrounded with contemporary simple earth colors from the furniture and displays to feel the creative ambiance of  a Thai atmosphere.

For the food, we choose to put regular spiciness that will be serving to make it zest to eat.  Take note that this is an option where one can request the level of spices to pour out or none at all.

As a starter, Tom Yum is served.  It is  a prawn stock that has a kick of sourness.  It leaves a tangy taste within which made this soup a spicy comfort food.

I find the Chicken Sate not that tender enough and quite dry when it was served to us.   Actually, the peanut dipping sauce save this curried meat when I pour it over getting those harmonious taste.

I was looking for Pomelo Salad which was very common in Thai food.  Still, trying new like Thai Beef Salad is what I enjoyed the most among the food served.  Topped with beef  that is soft and flavorful, all veggies are crunchy and fresh spread with tangy / sweet sauce that made it very refreshing in taste.

There is a less taste of shrimp paste with their Bagoong Rice.  Maybe I love to put more of it to blend well the taste of green sliced mango around.

In between, a creamy Thai Iced Tea refreshed the whole meal with a dash of tamarind within.

First time to taste mixed seafood with fried basil leaves. Stirred fry with curry and coconut milk made the dish soo creamy that gives a rendition of taste with shrimps, fish fillet and mussels.  I separately ate the crunchy basil.

We have also two stirred fried dishes that we tasted like Seafood in Chili and Squid with Garlic and Pepper which both have a nice rendition of spiciness and sweetness in a seafood.

Stir fried Pad Thai noodles is really a must-try that ensemble the sweetness and  spicy flavor of tamarind juice, fish sauce with tofu, egg and lot beansprouts sprinkled with peanuts and lime.

We were also served with delightful sweet white concoction of coconut corn pudding for dessert wrapped in pandan leaves which is soft and creamy.

Overall, I enjoyed the food escapade on that night.   Yes, we wait for the main food to come along like Bagoong Rice, Seafood with Basil Leaves, Pad Thai.

Readiness of each ingredients really takes time where some of the spices requires grinding and vegetables for fine chopping.  Why? To make it fresh once it is ready to cook.  Anyway, stir frying is very easy.  Still the complexity to  play around with sourness, salty, sweet and spicy to balance  it made Just Thai an authority for Thai cuisine.
