Ruining my meal plan is such a pleasure with Scarsdale artisanal delights.
If you are following me on social media, one would notice I am posting more on Instagram. It’s a simple apps that get those creative energy in photos and can share them ASAP. What more, some of the photos I encountered tell a story that led to artistic and meaningful view. That is how I bumped into Scarsdale as they visually attract sightseers like me with their good photos that represent pleasure to eat out.
And so the search begins as I look this place thru Google.
Me and hubby were about to meet somewhere in the metro and told him to catch me up at Scarsdale located at S & R along Shaw Boulevard. Clueless in mind, hubby just followed my directions.
With clear full glass panel in front, my eyes were drawn out with their neat yet gorgeous industrial and rustic wood / brick interior. There is also a lot of exposure in terms of space and light that give warmth and inviting comfort modern design.
Scarsdale is an upscale version of their sister company, Gonuts Donuts brand who is in ten years in this kind of food business. To make their donuts more personal, the owner approached Chef Carlo Miguel to elevate it to a higher notch that makes it artisanal in delight, creative yet delectable flavorful doughnuts / croughnuts.
I remembered Chef Carlo who was the first runner-up in Biggest Loser Asia and one of the cutest chef in the metro. From there, he becomes a role model for Filipinos who likes to be fit.
Even those ring pastries are firmer and big in size, the richness of each one has strikingly soft and moisture. Best part, all were not greasy. These were handcrafted and cooked at the store that made each one a fresh bake.
We bought a box of 8 donuts for P 400 as a substitute for cake which happens to be my son’s birthday. Among the selections, we love The Elvis, Best Chocolate, Oreo Cheesecake, Scarsdale Classic and Coffee Con Leche which we also recommended for those who like to try it.
We were about to go home then, still, the savory sights of sandwiches and pasta kept us seated on the chair with no resistance but to take an order. They have some honest to goodness offering that would still gratify a healthy lifestyle for me.
Warm and silky bowl of tomato soup for starter in this rainy season is a comfort food on its own. This classic soup is dressed up with simple garnishes that made it sophisticated in taste.
Caesar Salad ingredients like romaine lettuce drizzled with parmesan cheese and dressing is also a simple healthy dish. Still, the inclusion of doughnut crouton made it unique in taste.
For my main, I go for Chicken Pot Pie, a diced chicken w/ lettuce, green peas and onions croughnut sandwich. Great that it has a reduced cream to make it still a hearty filling meal.
Hubby was more interested in eating first the burger – U.S. Angus Beef patty which he found tender and flavourful in taste using those fresh ingredients like tomato, cucumber, onions and lettuce. This is partnered with seasoned fries which they literally prepared like cutting / slicing it once someone will order.
Spaghetti Bolognese is a fresh angus beef Italian tomato sauce served with doughnut garlic bread is a carbo-loading pasta done perfectly right in taste in terms of meat and herbs used.
To cap up our meal, Carlo’s favorite which is named after the chef is a flaky croughnut topped with chocolate ganache and walnut. The dulce de lecho filling made it an extravagant dessert. It’s really a pleasure to indulge even this would ruin my meal plan for the whole day.
Overall, the dining experience is exciting enough to keep us holding to our spoon the entire time.
I can say that the owner recognize its strength to be skill-wise to give Scarsdale a good shot which is brilliantly made to give those degustation a bliss of versatility. Congrats and hoping for new branches around the metro.

Even it was late night already, my youngest kiddo still wait for us and even did not slept early when we send her a message we have treats for them which she definitely enjoyed her midnight snack.
