Nest has an extensive array of inventive yet modern interiors that led diners like me to discover gastronomical sanctuary that tickles my taste bud.
For almost two weeks now, I restrained myself for not eating in a resto and focus to work first. It was a struggle actually, still, I have to discipline myself on what is important and urgent. As I end my weekday, now is the perfect time to treat myself in an impressive budding resto right at the center of Bonifacio Global City.
I don’t have no regret to take my culinary journey at Nest Modern Table and Bar, a roof-deck dining hot spot that offers an al fresco vibe and a view of the city skyline located at W Fifth Avenue Building in between 5th and 32nd street.
Surrounded by flora and fauna, Nest brings the garden element in its interior that got the spot of earth tones within its furniture. Their tablescape captures my attention as they literally put a nest to signify the slice of nature in every nook and corner of this city sanctuary.
Part of attending the said event was to meet their beverage consultant, Lee Watson who has designed and concocted 12 beautiful signature cocktails, each one with carefully thought out details to feel the whole vibe. Liquors cost between P 300 to P 450 each.
Happy Hour starts from 5PM to 9PM, wherein all signature cocktails are up for Buy 1 Take 1 grabs, and 3 beers on Tap warrant one more on-the-house.
My apology, I’m not fond of drinking. Yup, I drink occasionally especially red wine if I like to partnered it with steak or some celebrations. Anyway, I still tried one drink to taste. I found their Mojito too strong for me as I cannot taste the green apple and refreshing mint.
Green Mojito is a Bacardi Silver, Green Apple Puree, Green Charteuses, Mint and Ginger Beer
Spider’s Web is a Dewar’s White Scotch, Cachaca Brazillian Rum, Passion Fruit Syrup and Lemon
Smokin’ is a Laphroaig Single Malt, Scotch, Coconut Syrup, Honey and Lime
Sexy and I Know It is a Absolut Vanilla Vodka, Rose Syrup, Lemon and Maraschino Cherry Liquer
Blue Moon is a Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Black Currant, Lemon, Angostura and Blue Flower
Their set of food offers a feast for the senses with the breeze combination of Asian flavors and Western-style cooking fares as I found their new exciting menu remarkable.
While waiting, we were served Naan Flat Bread using pesto sauce topped with cherry tomatoes, edamame and asparagus which one usually find eating in an Indian cuisine but with a twist. The crust is pillowy and elastic with a crispy bottom using those fresh ingredients at its best.
I love to start my meal burst with oozing flavors. The Chunky Butternut Squash and Chickpea Soup is a ratatouille on its own that elevated the usual veggie soup and really much better. A hearty soup on its own that best served with bread.

This party appetizer with foie Gras, mushrooms, poached egg, croutons, parmesan marinated in balsamic suace which is a bit expensive for me is a must-try. It’s been a looong time that I tasted a foie gras which is an engorged liver of a goose or duck that can be seared or can make to a pate. The serving got those rich and buttery mouthfeel that melts gently on the palate. Definitely, the chef successfully preserved its texture and flavor.

This Prawn and Salmon Roe Risotto is the meal that I enjoyed most. I prefer seafood broth in cooking risotto which is flavourful and creamy in texture. Bright and crisp Snapper is moist in taste and properly seared. Surprisingly I tend to eat more even I was almost full. Maybe, that is how I enjoyed the meal.

The 5-Spiced Roast Pork Belly is a kurobota pork belly, soy and garlic noodle with sesame cucumber relish. This irresistible slow-roasted pork belly is given a light touch with those quintessential Chinese flavours that melts right into the mouth. The cucumber is a nice combination that removes those “umay” taste.

To capped out all the meals tasted, we ended with this Reese’s Sansrival, a peanut butter cream spread with chocolate ganache. Judging with its look, the taste and crunchiness is visible when eaten.

Donuts with dips of peanut butter cream, salted caramel and strawberry jam adds a special touch also to our meal. Coated with cinnamon and sugar providing those choices of dips are heaven. I was looking then for a brewed coffee to partner with it.
