Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness.
When an invite came in to participate in a Spanish Cuisine Cooking Lesson w/ Doña Elena to be held at New World Manila Bay Hotel, I know it would be a gastronomic full loaded lesson to intake not only literally we can also indulge on the richness of healthy food.

Personally, I’m user of Doña Elena Olive Oil. Versatile oil as I can pour them to salad, pasta and a replacement to traditional cooking oil for frying that made the dish healthy. There is always a notion to everyone that this olive oil is expensive but when you look at it at the supermarket, the price is the lowest among the displays.

As we waited for the class, I go around in our kitchen laboratory to check the ingredients painstakingly prepared for us.
What are we preparing?
- Gazpacho
- Paella Mixta
- Sangria
It was already proportioned and the excitement within me keep me saying “Let’s bring it on and cook”.

We were given a group to work on. Good thing, some of the members were also mommies like me.

The cooking experience was lot of saute when we were cooking Paella Mixta. Even it was lot of mixing, be sure that the rice is cook well and blended with the broth.
Again rice is the one that would take time to cook. Once all the seafood were all cook even rice was not yet cook, remove it first. Seafood like squid must not be overcook or else it would be rubberized once eaten. Continue also pouring some broth thus not making it dry.
The finish product?
Yes, its extravagant yet healthy dish.

Aside from the seafood and chicken, vegetables were also visible which made it healthy to indulge. These was the first picture when we were trying to figure out how we will design the hot plate.

Here is the recipe:
[yumprint-recipe id=’18’]The Sangria was also easy to do because it was just mixing all the fruits. But be sure to have the right amount of brandy and red wine or else, there would be a tipsy feeling after that.

The best part also of the event aside from cooking was to eat what we cook.
