If you are what you eat then you might as well eat something good which I did with
Jasmine’s New World Makati Hotel.
Sometimes it will be an intimidated feeling if one will be coming in or the most dine out in a cozy wold-class deluxe hotel like New World located directly opposite at Greenbelt, Makati. But its not. The spacious, dynamic and upscale feeling once you are inside gives the pleasure that one is very, very welcome.
This is not my first time to be back here since most of the functions I attended here always delights me. What more when I have the priviledge to dine in at Jasmine restaurant that introduces patrons to new ways to amaze with dim sum and authentic Chinese cuisine.
How?
Guests can enjoy the unlimited dim sum crafted daily for lunch either it is steam, baked and fried.
From Xiao Long Bao and dumplings like spinach, mushroom, shrimp, crab and pork, they have also barbecued buns, chicken spring rolls, turnip cake, Wagyu Beef, Mango Roll and Pork Spareribs. These are just some of it.
If other buffet offerings would let you stand to get it, with these kind of set-up, a menu is available on each table and one can order dim sum that will serve it steamingly hot to taste each freshness. For me, I can savor the taste and got the pleasure to pick each piece with goodness, as in one by one.
What I enjoyed most were the spinach dumpling, shrimp bean curd roll and their spicy soup.
There would always a challenge for me to eat Xiao Long Bao to preserve its juiciness. Skin is soo tender that one has to use spoon to pick it up to savor it more.
For seafood lovers like me, Jasmine offers also a special live seafood menu for gastronomic dinner treat from 18 July to 31 August 2014.
They have a resident chef who is an expert on authentic Chinese cuisine, Chef Wong Kam On that gives patrons his recommendations on the best preparations for crab and garoupa dishes.
The live seafood menu highlights Chef Wong’s specialty dishes, including Wok-Fried Crab with Radish Cake and Pepper Sauce, Fresh Crab with Satay and Sotanghon in a Clay Pot, Steamed Live Garoupa and Crispy Soy Bean specialties.
The fried crab that was served to us is simple with few ingredients. Still, the sweetness and tenderness of each meat is visible with the excitement of crushing it.
When I was tasting the fish that was served, the texture on how it was cooked is perfect – tender, silky yet so divine in taste.
Overall, as simple as it might seem, making a perfect Chinese-style cuisine takes a lot of techniques and skills. I am very fortunate to experience it with Jasmine restaurant. Hopefully, they would make the unlimited dim sum a regular offering.
Guests may enjoy this unlimited dim sum with beer offer daily for lunch, for only PHP995 per person, excluding service charge.
For the seafood, usually it would cost based on grams. If I may not mistaken, the order for the big fried crab is P 700 +.
Located on the second level of New World Makati Hotel, Jasmine is open daily for lunch and dinner with four private dining rooms for special occasions and functions.

Do you think its done already?
Chef Wong even prepared us this huge freshly baked buchi for dessert – sweet circled bun coated with sesame seed. They also give us this luscious chocolatey velvety box of brownies in celebration of New World Hotel’s 20th Anniversary.
