Season’s Eating at Festival Mall River Park Alabang – Foods on the Spot by Jinkee Umali

Aside from Nuvali, one of my family’s favorite place is the Alabang area. One of the new place we recently discovered when we were searching for a perfect place for Mother’s day was the River Park of Festival Mall.

The whole surrounding has a touch of nature and reviving the river is the plus factor to make this environment eco-friendly.

When an invite with Zomato foodies and Filivest City, came along, I gladly say yes on the invitation.

This will bring a Food Flight to celebrate the Season’s eating happening at Festival Mall-River Park Alabang on Saturday, December 12th between 1:00PM – 4:00PM.

Since I skipped the first stop, I proceed to RED Kitchen which is a dining and bar restaurant that has a sophisticated ambiance that made the feeling of cooling down which the best that can describe the restaurant’s interior.

Their house’s specialty, 72-Hour Soy Pork Belly is soft and moist that made me taste another bite even I was not a pork eater lover. Wondering 72-hour or computed as 3 days to be prepared and cooked to make this dish despicable in my taste palate. The kimchi rice complimented it that made the dish more appetizing.

The Grilled Salmon Paprika was well seasoned that made this fish dish astound its taste. Satisfied on how they meticulously grill it without suffering the taste that made it sooo juicy.

The Triad Churrasco – collection of different skewers of shrimp, chicken, beef and corn is very well-presented. Still the seasoned taste of each one is too ordinary for me.

Next stop is Hog’s Breath Cafe.

When I was checking our list, it said their Holiday Feast. No idea with it as I saw a front door poster that said it all.

It was a selection between a Seafood Feast and Hogsters Feast for P 2,250.00 good for 4 – 5 persons. Each serving was huge as we cannot pick where can we start first.

Some of the notable dishes that I love and keep me returning is their Spaghetti Carbonara – the creaminess incorporated to the whole dish made it so sumptuous that chunk of ingredients like mushrooms are fresh.

They have also other dishes like Fried Chicken, Smoked BBQ Pork Ribs and Breaded Prawns. I don’t know if these dishes were cook before we arrived as some of it tasted quite dry. Anyway, more spices on the ingredients maybe and add up more in terms of how the food were presented.

I thought it would be a food flight but with Hog’s, we ended up feeling those food comma. Overall, really satisfied with the escapade.

If you will ask me if the price worth for P 2,250.00 for each selection? I think so. Maybe they can add a pitcher of ice tea / softdrinks to complete the whole meal.

Ending our meal by taking dessert at Market Basket with Louis XV with brewed coffee or tea.

Known as French dessert where the base is nut meringue with praline and layered with chocolate mousse topped with macaron. To feel the Holiday within, a Christmas candy cane accentuated a piece of luxurious glaze taste.

I did not put sugar in my coffee to compliment more the taste.

Definitely, I would love to come back to Market Basket to try their fresh fish and seafood where I can choose how I like to cook them.

Overall, the ambiance of nature environment of River Park and the restaurants around Festival Mall made this food flight an exemplary escapade for those Southerner or non-southerner an experience making a metro living more greener.
