Rome’s Patisserie is a sweet escape indulgence – variety of brownies, cupcakes and cheesecakes are a must-try and definitely one crave for more.
When I got into baking, my very first one to try was to do varieties of brownies. Name it, I can make out of it and even decorated it.
From there, I find passion of giving this a gift to my loved ones and eventually to my clients during Yuletide Season or any special occasion.
I even made a business out of it like distributing those goodies from nearby schools here in Calamba, Laguna.
When I was invited to try different pastries from Rome’s Patisserie, I gladly say yes. I would like to know what are some of the changes that gone through all of these years now that I stop baking.
Rome’s Patisserie is a new kiosk at the University Mall near De La Salle University Taft Ave., Manila that offers different pastries.
The owner / chef limited his offer to make it freshly baked everyday.
Now we have to check if this is really true as I tasted them one by one.
Overall, I love the pudginess and softness of all the brownies that I tasted. I know since I baked a lot then.
Yes, all are freshly baked with all the goodness of those chocolatey and toppings are a lot.
One can tell if the brownies is too old if its hardened when tasted. Most of them were chewy. Among the selections like Revel Bar, Cream Cheese, Walnut and Food for the Gods, for me, what stands out is the Revel Bar.
I like also the cut of each brownies that is manageable to bite everytime one like to indulge with it.
I am also fond of Eclair. Love the cream custard inside as it balance the sweetness and creaminess.
The cupcakes that I bought home were Chocolate Kitkat, Red Velvet, Carrot, Choco Banana and Dulce de Leche. These were my morning breakfast together with my tea.
The softness is there and for 3 days that stock to our fridge, it retains the softness and still the moistness is visible. I enjoyed more the variety flavor of Choco Banana.
In terms of pricing, all those sweet treats are very affordable.
Since this is near to where the station going to Laguna, will definitely come back for the sweet treats for the kiddos. Now I have some alternatives for “pasalubong”.
To the chef, anticipating he will continue the passion to give the best service to his customers – that is best quality ever that would satisfy their crave. Hoping for the success in this new endeavor.
