General’s Lechon flavored lechon is back with an innovative creation of Cochinillo – succulent crispy piglet stuffed with everything good inside.
Me and fellow foodies were invited by Bryan, owner of General’s Lechon to a private tasting in his branch at Dasmarinas, Makati to check his new baby – Cochinillo.
Cochinillo is a lechon de leche innovation that is stuffed with flavorful curry rice inside. According to Lyn, Bryan’s wife, at the moment they have two available flavors – the curry flavor and aligue (crab’s meat).
When Bryan was starting to slice those pig thin skin, you would hear those crackling sound that made you salivate just by hearing it.
The rice itself is burst in flavor with tht soft yet crunchy skin and meat of lechon de leche made the whole experience a feast of meal to share.
This meal alone completes it if one is having a celebration like birthdays or just a simple gathering.
When we were done on those upper part and tasting the belly side which is the softest among it, the spices and herbs that put inside are oozing with flavors. This made the lechon sooo flavorful using the best of the best ingredients.
For the first time foodies who attended this private taste, Bryan also shared his best-sellers which is also my favorite, the garlic and chilli garlic lechon.
General’s Lechon Cochinillo is a degustation escapade experience even I stayed there for just a short time.
I know I have this diet motivation for the last quarter of the year. Still, I just like to reward myself with some gastronomic adventure once in a while. By the way, I considered this as my cheat day perhaps as I ending my almost 10 days with no rice meal or less rice.
Again my congratulations to the couple, Bryan and Lynn for your new baby – Cochinillo, innovative inspired Filipino dish that would catch a foodie lover like me. Will definitely come back to taste the other flavor.
