Frango’s Portuguese Style of Chicken

Fully marinated Frango’s chicken that made a smoky grilled flavor well-balance that spike also its juiciness as I finished my thigh serving off to the bones.

Since my work destination would always be here in the metro business district for a couple of months, it would be practical that I also discover nearby foodie places yet unique on its own along the area.

A place as recommended by fellow foodies that I spotted recently is Frango’s. What made me excited is the chicken dish that they offered – Peri-Peri Chicken, Portuguese way of cooking and preparing it.

Frango’s which formerly sold their famous chicken at Legaspi Sunday Market is now available in a rustic-themed restaurant right at the heart of San Antonio.

For appetizers, the mash taste of Pumpkin Humus made my day delightful – unique and balance blend of spices that I enjoyed digging it more. Remembered feeding this to my kiddos when they were babies and I can never imagine it can be made as dips to breads.

Another one is the Quesadilla. What made this a standout is their mango salsa – a fiesta of freshness once you start pouring it with quesadilla.

Find Beef Trinchado and Chourico Sausage too oily to taste. Maybe because its too thick that flavors like spices around use didn’t infuse that well. There is still need to improve for the succulent bite also on the meat that was used here.

What can I say with their Chicken Wings – crispy, moist and infused with lot of flavor which I never stop getting those pieces one at a time. Best partnered with beer I suppose.

Now the star – Frango’s Chicken.

Fully marinated that made a smoky grilled flavor well-balance that spike also its juiciness as I finished my thigh serving off to the bones. The extra 3 sauces over the chicken knock them out.

Sauces  are Chili Garlic Sauce, Tomato Piri-Piri, Green Harissa.   I still love that they include Mango Salsa here in our serving.

I enjoyed the briny fresh flavor of the seafood that is carefully cooked. I find it a little bit watery on the base and still looking for the depth of flavor around specifically the stew to make it more flavorful.

As lunch was done, it was a breeze to go back to the client continuing consultancy work to be finished. Overall, I love the gastronomic foodie escapade with Frango’s. Definitely, will go back for more.
